School Board Approves Superintendent's Contract
Trustees voted Thursday to approve a three-and-a-half-year contract for Superintendent David J. Faltys. The Board agreed to an annual base salary of $168,000 with a $7,200 car allowance, a $1,800 communications allowance (cell phone and home internet connection), paid medical insurance premiums and at least 5% of the superintendent's annual salary set aside for a deferred compensation package. Also built into the contract is an annual $5,000 residential housing allowance included as an incentive to have the new superintendent live within Carroll ISD. The superintendent must reside within the district boundaries to be eligible for this allowance.
Trustees approved the contract contingent on a few minor wording recommendations by the district's legal counsel. No additional vote will be necessary as Trustees agreed on the general terms of the contract during the special meeting Thursday.
The School Board in Navasota ISD voted this week to accept Faltys' resignation contingent on a contract agreement with Carroll ISD. The 42-year-old graduate of Texas A&M University
