Colonel McMinn continues to serve his country in the Air National Guard and has been named the new 136th Operations Group Commander.  McMinn said that the morale of the troops is high and they are well aware and determined in their service to their country.  He said of course they are disappointed no stockpiles of WMD have been found, but the search continues.

McMinn left active duty in November 1991 and was hired by the Texas Air National Guard in February 1992.  In his first year, he re-qualified as Instructor Pilot and was hired as an Air Reserve Technician (full time).  In this role, he served as the Chief of Training, the Chief of Safety, and th 181st Airlift Squadron Operations Officer.

In February 2001, McMinn was selected as the 181st Airlift Squadron Commander. After successfully completing Higher Headquarters Aircrew Standardization and Evaluation Visit, the unit quickly changed to a war-fighting role in the aftermath of September 11th, 2001.  McMinn ensured that the unit quickly converted to Night Vision Goggle operations and prepared for deployment in support of the war on terrorism.

A standing ovation for Colonel McMinn after his remarks.

McMinn served as the 321st Expeditionary Operations Group Commander at Masirah Island Air Base, Oman, from march until August of 2003.  As commander, his unit has flown in excess of 12,000 hours in the last three years, surpassing the 150,000 accident-free flying hour mark.
