Colonel McMinn
continues to serve his country in the Air National Guard
and has been named the new 136th Operations Group
Commander. McMinn said that the morale of the
troops is high and they are well aware and determined in
their service to their country. He said of course
they are disappointed no stockpiles of WMD have been
found, but the search continues.

McMinn left active duty in
November 1991 and was hired by the Texas Air National Guard in
February 1992. In his first year, he re-qualified as
Instructor Pilot and was hired as an Air Reserve Technician
(full time). In this role, he served as the Chief of
Training, the Chief of Safety, and th 181st Airlift Squadron
Operations Officer.
In February 2001, McMinn was selected as the 181st Airlift
Squadron Commander. After successfully completing Higher
Headquarters Aircrew Standardization and Evaluation Visit, the
unit quickly changed to a war-fighting role in the aftermath of
September 11th, 2001. McMinn ensured that the unit quickly
converted to Night Vision Goggle operations and prepared for
deployment in support of the war on terrorism.

McMinn served as the 321st
Expeditionary Operations Group Commander at Masirah Island Air
Base, Oman, from march until August of 2003. As commander,
his unit has flown in excess of 12,000 hours in the last three
years, surpassing the 150,000 accident-free flying hour mark.
