February 21, 2005 Armed Robbery of Blockbuster was caught on tape The February 6, 2005 armed robbery of Blockbuster Video located at 5000 Highway 121 South, happened just before midnight and was captured on video tape. The armed suspect forced three of the male employees to lay on the floor, while the suspect demanded the female employee load video games into a box at gunpoint. The Aggravated Robbery was caught on video tape inside the store, and the suspect appears to be a tall, dark-skinned man. Responding to the scene first was Officer Bob Etheridge, who learned from the shaken employees that the suspect also cleaned out $342.03 from the cash register. Video games stolen were 17 copies of Grand Theft Auto-San Andreas for Playstation 2 ($49.99 each = $849.83), 3 copies of Metal Gear Solid for Playstation 2 ($49.99 each = $149.97), 5 copies of Def Jam for Gamecube ($39.99 each = $199.95), and 12 copies of Need For Speed-Underground 2 ($49.99 each = $599.88). The investigation remains open, and Detective David Martz is assigned to the case. LNO has requested a copy of the tape to prepare in streaming video for viewing on this site. 2/16/05 Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, no forced entry, in the parking lot of the Applebee's Neighborhood Restaurant at 5150 Colleyville Blvd. According to the report filed by Officer Raymon Cannon, a radar detector was stolen from an automobile owned by a North Richland Hills man, sometime between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM. 2/16/05 Cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia at 6604 Armstrong Court, was James C. Hall of 6093 Stitzle Road in Crandall, TX, by Officer Issac Soto, at 9:15 AM. 2/11/05 Burglary of a Habitation at 1201 Glade Road, when unknown person(s) entered the residence by forcing open a sliding glass door. The doors locking hook was pulled from the frame. Several pieces of jewelry were stolen, but a complete inventory of the pieces was not available at the time of the report filed by Officer John Arenz. Detective Kevin Wallling is investigating the incident. 2/9/05 Hit and Run report at a residence at 617 Leta Lane. Officer Craig Terrell responded at 10:30 PM to the address, where an unknown suspect who had been traveling at a high rate of speed had lost control of the vehicle and struck the chainlink fence, and then left the scene. At least 50' of the fence was taken out and damage was estimated at $600. 2/08/05 Criminal Trespass at Smitty's Bar, 5224 Colleyville Blvd. Officer Bob Etheridge responded to a request by the business owner, a Trophy Club resident, to issue a Criminal Trespass Warning to a suspect who was picking fights with employees and other customers. The suspect had previously caused a disturbance on 12/30/04 as well. 2/03/05 Criminal Mischief at 6502 Emerald Drive, by unknown suspect(s) in a vehicle, who used the circle driveway to turn around. Three square yards of grass, two valve cover boxes for irrigation pipes and the drainage pipe were ruined. Approximate damages were $300. 2/02/05 Attempted Burglary of a Habitation at 2108 Oak Knoll Drive. Pry damage was discovered on a sliding glass door. The damages to the door were $500. 2/02/05 Theft of a vehicle at 4401 Eaton Circle was reported to Officer Tim Osborn at 10:00 AM. Unknown suspect(s) stole the 2004 burgundy Honda Accord right out of the garage. Detective Kevin Walling is investigating; the automobile is valued at $20,000.
