Colleyville Attorney files for Place 1 on Colleyville City Council

George Boll

George Boll of Colleyville announced today that he has filed to run for Colleyville City Council Place 1. The position is currently held by Councilman Mark Skinner who has not filed for re-election to date.

This will be Boll’s first run for public office. Boll said his experience in law has taught him to consider all sides of issues before making a decision. “It seems to me leadership on the council can best be illustrated by considering and evaluating what is best for our entire community, not what is best for just a single group.

Key to success in my professional life has been careful research and information gathering, then, with a calm resolve, making a sound decision. I always encourage open and honest debate and dialogue on issues so that I can work in the best interests of my clients. As a member of the council, that would be my constituents, the residents and businesses of Colleyville. I do not believe that antagonism with fellow elected officials is of any use in the governance of our city,” said Boll.

Boll noted that, like most residents, he previously left the leadership of city government to others. However, he said that a strong, deliberate plan for economic development, while preserving the current rural atmosphere, is a major concern. “I believe our citizens spoke loudly when they voted 72% in favor of not giving $14 million of our tax dollars to a utility company to bury its own power lines. Colleyville must balance the needs of the community with what we can afford. We must be fiscally responsible. A lot of time, effort and money were expended on that proposition that could have been dedicated to a plan to attract business to the city,” concluded Boll.

Boll is a partner in the Addison law firm of Juneau, Boll & Ward, PLLC, which he co-founded in August of 2000 after leaving Dallas’ Strasburger & Price, LLP where he was also a partner. Boll is a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Western Hills High School in Fort Worth and then the University of Texas at Arlington. He received his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Boll moved to Colleyville from Grapevine in late 1998.

Boll’s wife, Kaye Lynne, is also an attorney and in private practice in North Richland Hills where she also serves as President of the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association.
