Colleyville Police Detective Hillary
Wreay checks out the fingerprint work of Jamie Thibodeaux during
training at the Citizens Police Academy.
The
Colleyville Police Academy is an intensive 12 week course in the
study of police procedures, techniques, and
administration. Graduates will be called on to assist the
department in a volunteer capacity.
Every student is required to spend time with officers during
their actual work day, that could include making traffic
stops, arrests and searches.
"Officer Bill" Hudgins is
the Public Information Officer coordinating the Citizens Police
Academy.
Don't be fooled by the attractive
looks of this Detective; Detective Hillary Wreay is experienced,
tough and all business.
Detective David Martz prepares
fingerprinting materials. Detective Martz assisted the
class in techniques of lifting fingerprints from automobiles.
Kevin Walling is an
experienced patrol and bicycle officer and was recently named
the city's newest Detective.
Det. Wreay demonstrates the gas
chamber fingerprinting and gas wand to Linda Baker.
Det. Wreay shows the gas wand
technique to highlight areas of potential fingerprints.

can, from a crime scene, as that of a former elected official.

their success in fingerprinting.
The third Citizen Police Academy
started with 18 citizens, the largest to date.
