Throwing Teenagers
Officer John Arenz busts dangerous
rock throwing kids.
Just after midnight on Saturday, March 27, 2005, Officer John Arenz was dispatched to the 2600 block of Glade Road, where yet another moving vehicle had been struck by a thrown rock. The shaken female victim had been driving down Glade when the rock shattered the passenger side window on her Ford Mustang.
As reported previously in LNO in the past weeks, Officer Arenz was aware of at least seven recent incident calls from the same location regarding rocks being hurled at passing automobiles.
All involved damage to the vehicles. Arenz used his intuition, parked his patrol unit some distance away and walked to the area. After a while, he confronted 5 teenage males, who ran. Arenz located the juvenile suspects who indeed have been involved in the rash of criminal mischief complaints in that location.
Parents of the underage suspects were immediately notified, and Detective David Martz is continuing the investigation at press time.
