Big time
Bar-b-Que cookout comes to Colleyville
The great
Colleyville Bar-B-Que cookoff will be Saturday on
Centerpark behind the SouthTrust Bank building.
Volunteers are needed for judging at 11:00 am. Simply
show up and eat some great food free and help judge
the best of the best.
Colleyville
will be the location for a sanctioned bar-b-que
contest with several thousand dollars in prizes for
the top cookers. Best of all, according to one
of the organizers of the event, Kevin Walling, judges
are needed for Saturday. Walling invited
volunteers to come out at 11:00 am and learn some of
the secrets of great bar-b-que cooking.
"These folks will play an important part at the
event," said Walling. Walling said the
volunteers will eat some great food for free and learn
about some interesting techniques. Category for
judging will be brisket, ribs, and chicken with a
"Jackpot Beans" contest.
To
kick off the event on Friday from 7:30 pm until
midnight, a band will perform and the public is
invited to stop by for the concert. On Saturday,
each cook out artist is donating a brisket and a
professional meat cutter from Mac's will be on hand to
serve. For only $5.00 a plated, the public will
be served all they can eat bar-b-que with side items
of beans, potato salad and coleslaw.
