High speed
police car chase spurs neighborhood meeting
by David and Kami
Lee
On April 8, 2005, after a high speed chase through our neighborhood, the Colleyville police arrested a convicted child molester who was illegally living in the Bransford area. The police initially became interested in this individual when they noticed him driving a borrowed car, apparently looking for open and unattended garages in the area. We believe this man was a “house guest” of a local family who took him in as an act of kindness. While we sympathize with their motives, we feel that allowing this man to illegally stay unsupervised in our neighborhood is an unacceptable risk to our children, and our families.
Detective Kevin Walling is the investigating officer from Colleyville P.D., and is currently conducting an investigation to find out why this man was living in our Bransford area neighborhood instead of the El Paso Half-Way House as mandated by the Texas State Parole Board.
Detective Walling is willing to come to our meeting and answer any questions he is legally able to answer. A Public Safety officer will also be available to answer any questions on how to make our neighborhood safer. With a large enough projected attendance, we will also be inviting city council members to attend. We intend to make it clear to all in our neighborhood, as well as the Colleyville city officials, that we will simply not tolerate such a serious and dangerous situation in the future.
Please mark your calendar and make every effort to attend this important meeting. We look forward to seeing you there.
