Officer
Gregory Prewitt and Sgt. Clyde Davis responded to the 700
block of W. LD Lockett Road, on Tuesday, April 26,
at 10:02 PM, after a commercial airline pilot from DFW
Airport reported being "painted" by a laser beam
originating from the area, while his aircraft was flying
overhead.
The two
veteran Colleyville Police Officers searched the area, but
were unable to locate any suspects or witnesses. The
pilot had only been able to detect the general area
where the beam had originated. However, this was the
second time this month that this same offense has been
reported in the exact area, around the same time of
night.
As
reported in LocalNewsOnlycom, on April 5, 2005, also a
Tuesday night, Officer Bob Etheridge responded at 10:30
PM, to a call in the area around 900 W. LD Lockett
Road, regarding suspects possibly using Laser lights against
aircraft in the DFW Airport flight path.
No
suspects were located.

Bizarre traffic report taken at 2100 Hall Johnson Road by
Officer John Fossett. White female driving a
black Ford SUV, about 9:30 AM, hit a curb, causing the
right side mirror to strike a Kawasaki grass trimmer
being held in the hands of a landscaping worker working
near the roadway. Ruben Castro, 22, an employee
of locally owned, The Lawn Firm, was struck in the
stomach by the trimmer before it flew out of his hands
about 5' away. The woman continued driving but
turned around and came back. She asked the
non-English speaking worker was hurt; evidently determining
to herself that he was not at least mortally wounded.
She then drove off, without leaving any further
information about herself. What she did leave behind
beside the Hispanic landscaper, was her right side mirror,
and the damaged $55 grass trimmer.
