It seems
that the entire town of Colleyville has been breathlessly
awaiting the opening of Market Street; the
72,000-square-foot grocery store at 5605 Colleyville Blvd.
Well, today is the day.

At
9 a.m., the ribbon was cut and Market Street was
officially open for business. There were groups of people
outside awaiting the opening. Curious shoppers were
roaming the aisles and standing in awe. Of what? Perhaps
the concierge -- who helps customers plan special events,
or the French-born wine steward that can advise on the
1,600 labels on hand. Of course, it could be the mock
country lane where prepared entrees and sides are
available for dine-in or take out. Whatever the element
that catches an individuals eyes, everyone must go and see
Market Street for themselves.
On
Tuesday night, some 1,600 people were invited to a VIP
party at Market Street to get the first taste of a whole
new grocery shopping experience. The walkways were so
crowded with hungry and enthused consumers that it was
hard to move. The throngs of people enjoyed everything
from fresh sushi at the sushi bar to homemade
pastries.
Market
Street has laid the ground work with the surrounding
community to get consumers involved and excited about
their store.
“We
are thrilled to be joining the Colleyville Community,”
Alan Barron, store director, said. “Market Street is
truly is the place where everyday meets gourmet.”
Market
Street is at 5606 Colleyville Blvd., just south of
Hall-Johnson Road.
