On Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at about 9:10 pm, Grapevine Police Department Officers arrested Sherman Durwett Harris (black male, 42 years of age, father) and Sherman Martell Harris (black male, 19 years of age, son) for the robbery of the CVS Pharmacy (2105 West Northwest Highway) on 9/21/2005 at about 9:00 pm. They were arrested after a short vehicle and foot pursuit.
The Grapevine Police Department had been on the look out for these suspects regarding two other robberies in Grapevine, the Payless Shoe Source (1271 W.D. Tate Ave) on 9/17/2005 and the Hallmark Gold Crown (1217 West SH 114 #116) on 9/14/2005.
The suspects would enter the business, shop around for a few minutes, and then purchase an item with cash. When the clerk would open the cash register drawer, the father would assault the clerk, take the money and then flee the area in a silver colored import vehicle with Wyoming license plates. They were also suspected of robberies using the same method in other area cities (Bedford, Euless, Fort Worth and White Settlement).
Both suspects were charged with 3 counts of Robbery (CVS, Payless, & Hallmark, 2nd degree felonies). The father was further charged with Evading Arrest with a Vehicle (State Jail felony) and the son was further charged with Evading Arrest on foot (Class B misdemeanor).
Both suspects reside in Fort Worth and had recently moved to this area from Wyoming. Their vehicle was a 2000 Suzuki Esteem 4 door with Wyoming license plates.
