GrapeFest, a Top 100 Event in North America and rated
“Best of the Fests” in D
Magazine, will honor America’s Pilots, Flight
Attendants, Military Personnel, Police Officers, and Fire
Fighters by offering all of them a free lunch at the
festival on Thursday, September 11.
This is the second year that GrapeFest has paid
special tribute to these individuals.

“On this day that brings back so many memories,
we will focus on these heroes and the sacrifices that they
make every day.
We want to recognize their service to America.
A free lunch for them is a small, but heartfelt way
that we can thank them,” says Louise Dorety, Chair of
the 17th Annual GrapeFest.
To receive a free lunch on Thursday, September 11,
between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., any Pilot, Flight Attendant,
Military Personnel, Police Officer, or Fire Fighter must
simply come in uniform to the Gazebo, 325 S. Main –
inside the festival grounds, to receive complimentary
lunch coupons.
The coupons are redeemable from 11 a.m. until 2
p.m. at any festival concessionaire at GrapeFest.
“We want our special guests to select the type
food they prefer for lunch – and everything will be
available, such as corn dogs, turkey legs, barbecue,
hamburgers and more,” Dorety explains.
“Our stages will have live music.
The festival will be fully operational, and it will
be a very special time for everyone and a great way to
begin GrapeFest weekend,” she says.
There will be Four Full Days of Fun at
GrapeFest!
Highlights include:
Seven sessions of ‘The
People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic’ over Friday,
Saturday and Sunday (Texas’
first and largest consumer driven wine competition)
featuring wines from 29 Texas wineries; International
Wine Area in Liberty Park featuring wines from seven
international countries; Wines of the Southwest in the Vintner’s
Pavilion featuring wines of Texas,
Colorado and New Mexico; the black-tie Texas
Wine Tribute gala featuring medal-winning Texas wines
paired with a five-course gourmet meal at the Hilton DFW
Lakes Hotel and emceed by Mike Snyder, NBC5 News Anchor; GrapeStomp
competition for teams of two adults competing for the
Coveted Purple Foot Award – including a Mayoral Stomp
and a Charity Stomp; a free, large Children’s Area featuring Arthur
– Presented by KERA, bounce houses, entertainment and
activities for little festival-goers; GrapeFest
Tennis Classic; a carnival
and midway with rides for children and adults; a
high-energy Live
Auction benefiting the Texas Wine & Grape Growers
Association offering domestic and international vacations,
rare wines, arts and antiques, and collectibles; live

FREE festival parking at the Grapevine Convention
