An engineer with Halliburton pursues her other passion as a side business.

Danielle Chonody,
Professional Pet Sitter
|
From
Adelaide, Australia, Danielle came to the United States in
2000. Working as an engineer with Halliburton, she was
promoted to a position located in the DFW area.
Not long after she arrived, she also met Todd Chonody, who also
worked for the company and they were married in 2002.
Danielle said that she really wanted to lay the groundwork for a
change in her working career. "I have pets of my own
and knew there had to be a better alternative than boarding them
in a kennel."
Her first effort was to find a book titled "Pet Sitting for
Profit."
She joined the Pet
Sitters International organization and listed her services as a
Bonded and Insured Pet Sitter. It wasn't long that her ad,
on the Pet Sitters website was found by a local resident, who
happened to be a "Cat Photographer" and traveled
extensively in her work.
The photographer became her first client about three years ago,
and since, she has accumulated more than 60 clients.
In fact her
business has grown to the point that some of her clients have also
become contract employees helping out in the business.
Her business card notes services such as; in home pet sitting, pet
taxi, daily dog walking and pet nutrition. Danielle and Todd are
listed as the owners and members of Pet Sitters International.

| Danielle
makes it a policy to always visit with the pets and their
"parents" in the home prior to taking on a new
client. "I want to know what the customer expects and I
want to know that we will be comfortable with the pet."
Her pet sitting business has included sitting with lizards and
multiple pet combinations. She has also experienced the need
to address emergency situations, for example, one family's pet dog
managed to eat rat poison and had to be rushed to a vet
hospital.
Her in-home pet sitting business offers a variety of options, including spending the night at the customer's home - a visit of between 10 and 12hours.
Other services and
rates include two levels of pet sitting service to cater to different client needs. All visits include collection of mail and home security services such as rotation of lights.
Quoted prices include 1-3 pets. Each additional pet $2 extra per visit.

Those who want more time spent with the pet can select the "Platinum Visit"
at $28 per visit. Her company advertises that she will
pamper pets for a longer period including one hour visit that includes all services
in standard visit plus "more love, play and attention, longer
dog walks and even daily updates via email or telephone on your
pet's day!"
Claws, Paws and Jaws offer services in Euless, Bedford, Colleyville, Hurst, Southlake, Grapevine and North Richland Hills.
Danielle said she hopes that readers will, "understand the
advantage for the pets and the family with pet sitting versus
boarding the pet in an environment that is strange and could be
upsetting to the pet."
For a limited time, to introduce her services to those who may not
know about it, Danielle told LNO that she will actually provide
the first visit at no charge to new clients.
