If Joe
had
lived
today,
he would
probably
have
been
considered
a
liberal,
or at
least
with
liberal
tendencies.
That is,
if you
are
prone to
labeling
people.
He
didn’t
consider
himself
all that
liberal,
but he
did have
a few
things
he
disagreed
with.
Joe was
a physician,
actually studied at
some of the finer
schools, including
medical school. And
one thing that Joe
was interested in,
as are most doctors,
is the relief of
suffering. I mean,
isn’t that why
doctors go into the
field of medicine?
They want to help
people who are
suffering. Well, we
have it on good
authority that was
Joe’s primary
impetus. And
although Joe never
published any of his
medical findings in
his life time, we do
have several other
written pieces to go
by. Some are
written in Joe own
hand, some by others
who knew him.

I guess
that was probably
true with Charles

a bunch of people
thought it was wrong
to do it. And
another bunch just
didn’t believe it at
all.
That
also happened when

still today, there

WWI Could have
been averted?
World War I was called the war to
end all wars. A total of 65 million soldiers
fought in that war; 21,000,000 of them were
wounded and nearly 9,000,000 killed. Historians
have spent a whole bunch of years trying to
figure out what that war was all about, and many
of them point straight to the emperor of
Germany, Kaiser Wilhelm the Second, as the
culprit who engineered the whole thing.
Wilhelm was the
grandson of William the First of Germany and of
Britain’s Queen Victoria. He was well known for
his tendency to talk too much. He seemed to
know nothing about tact and diplomacy. London
newspapers loved to repeat his outbursts. And
when they reported him saying that the German
people just didn’t like the British, the ill
will between the two countries shot up
overnight. Some say Wilhelm didn’t really want
war, but he didn’t seem to mind the idea if it
would help him reach his most prized goal, which
was to turn Germany into a great empire, a
country to be reckoned with.
