Car Burglary chances go up when thief can see
valuables
The Roanoke Police
Department has recieved eight (8) Burglary of Motor
Vehicle Reports since the Beginning of the year. In
most cases the thieves have been taking items that
are easily seen by looking in the window.
The Roanoke Police Department requests that you look
at your vehicles and ensure that high valued
electronics are secured in your home and not in your
vehicle. Please remove GPS navigation devices, radar
detectors, Laptop computers, DVD players, CD cases
etc. All of these items are sought after by thieves
and by removing them from your car will reduce your
risk of becoming a victim.
The Roanoke Police Department believes that a
partnership between the public and its police force
is the best way to prevent crime. Please help us by
removing these items from your cars.
