Send a Needy North Texas Child to Summer Camp.

Do you like to have fun?
Dumb question, yeah.
But on May 12, 2001, the Saturday before Mother's Day, Summer Santa 2001 will hold its 4th annual Yankee Cowboy Celebrity Miniature Golf/Bowling Tournament to benefit the summer camp fund.
This event is a blast.
For $10, you can bowl two games or play a round of miniature golf.
There is food, clowns, trophies, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, a special mini-golf tournament between area mayors and school superintendents at High Noon and a lot of surprises.
All you have to do is come to Brunswick Watauga Lanes (and Frontier Town mini-golf outside) at 7301 Rufe Snow Drive in Watauga between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. (Across from Tom Thumb.)
There is no other event like this! Every year, hundreds of adults and children come and have a great time.
And Moms, since this is the day before Mother's Day, all mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers get to play FREE as a gift from Summer Santa in honor of you!
For further information, call Tournament Director Dave Lieber, the Yankee Cowboy who co-founded Summer Santa in 1997 and is a Star-Telegram/Northeast columnist. You can reach him at 817-685-3830 or email to summersanta@star-telegram.com.

See you on May 12, 2001!

Summer Santa ™ came to Greater Northeast Tarrant County in 1997 to remind everyone that giving and volunteering on behalf of needy and abused children is needed year-round, not just at the end-of-the-year holidays.

Summer Santa represents the good in all of us. He helps children, who need assistance with summertime activities designed to make them happy, provide hope, offer growth experiences and let them know there are others who care.

Summer Santa does this by raising money to send hundreds of children to summer camp and providing them with back-to-school clothing and school supplies. Summer Santa also conducts a toy drive in the schools in which students learn the lesson of giving. Medical services are provided for children who otherwise would not see a doctor or dentist. With humor and love, Summer Santa works with children and adult donors and volunteers, area charities, families, schools, community service groups and businesses to bring out the best in Greater Northeast Tarrant County. A community that loves and cherishes children is a community in every sense of the word.
