Bea Wright wanted something to make her the special grandmother when
she moved to this area to be near her grandchildren so she began telling
stories.
Friday evening Wright and Ray Zempruch were the featured tale
spinners when the Tarrant Area Guild of Storytellers hosted
"Stories Under the Stars". Listeners leaned back in their lawn
chairs and listened to tales of unusual relatives, old world cemeteries,
and crickets.
Paige Bertrand, the youngest storyteller at seven years of age, spoke
in a strong confident voice, delighting the crowd. She was preceded by
her sister Jamie, the story writer of the family. Their mentor in
storytelling Julie Tsagoi also performed.
The Guild meets every third Monday at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore
on Airport Freeway in North Richland Hills and performs where ever
requested. Members have attended festivals as far away as Corn Island,
Tennessee to tell their stories.
