On
April 22, 2002, the City Council of North Richland Hills approved
the sale of $6,745,000 in Certificates of Obligation at an Interest
Rate of 4.8396% over a 20 year redemption period. In effect
they created nearly $7 million dollars that will be paid back by
new property tax and fee increases beginning next year. The
funds are to be used for moving a fire station, refurbishing a
fire station, acquisition of unspecified “right of way”, median
construction and probably some general revenue additions.

DEDICATES WORLD WAR II MEMORIAL

Approximately 150 people attended the unveiling of Colleyville’s
World War II memorial Saturday morning at The Village at
Colleyville. The four markers are located in the median near
the intersection of Main Street and Pleasant Run Road. The
project began last summer when Mike Patterson and Jimmy Reynolds hit
upon the idea of erecting a memorial to the World War II veterans
who had lived in Colleyville at the time they joined the service.

accepted for CELEBRATE COLLEYVILLE STEERING COMMITTEE
The Colleyville City Council will accept
applications for a position on the Celebrate Colleyville Steering
Committee through July 8, 2002, at 5:00 p.m. The Committee
reviews and makes recommendations to the City Council on the
schedule, structure, venue(s), budget and long range planning of
the Celebrate Colleyville event. The Committee, consisting
of eight members, serves two-year terms. If you are interested in

The dedication of Colleyville’s World War II memorial is this
Saturday, June 8, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. The markers are
located at the entrance to The Village at Main Street and
Pleasant Run Road.
The Village donated the site. The markers honor those
individuals who served during World War II from the area now
known as Colleyville. Mike Patterson and Jimmy Reynolds
planned and implemented the creation and installation of the
