Records Show City Councilman Delinquent On Back Taxes

The Colleyville Police Department in conjunction with Kroger, held a Safety Fair Saturday, May 19, 2001, from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM in the Kroger parking lot located at 4904 Colleyville Blvd.  Kroger sponsored a slide for the kids as well as hot dogs and drinks.

On the drive home from work, I slip a cassette into the dashboard stereo and listen to Chris Rea breathe "Texas" in his Englishman baritone.  It is one of those songs that eases the bends while decompressing into the real world and remind me of the Colleyville that used to be.

In 1999 Raman Chandler, a Board Member of the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce, challenged Jody Short for city council seat Place 1.  Prior to the election, the Short camp ran an ad in the local newspaper questioning the influence of the Chamber on city politics.

Friends of the Colleyville Public Library Host First Fundraiser

Friends of the Colleyville Public Library held the first fundraiser at the Colleyville Community Center on May 1, 2001..  Ms. Carol Wollin, Co-Chair with Mrs. MaryAnn Nicholson, said there were close to 100 attendees.  "Today was more of an opportunity to provide information and let everyone know that we are here" stated Ms. Wollin. We are looking forward to the groundbreaking ceremony that is scheduled for January but could be held as early as December.  "We didn't really have a goal set for today but the day was a huge success", Ms. Wollin expressed.

Summer Santa Charity Mini- Golf/Bowling Tournament set for May 12 in Watauga

Do you like to have fun?  Dumb question, yeah.  But on May 12, 2001, the Saturday before Mother's Day, Summer Santa 2001 will hold its 4th annual Yankee Cowboy Celebrity Miniature Golf/Bowling Tournament to benefit the summer camp fund.
This event is a blast.  For $10, you can bowl two games or play a round of miniature golf.

The City Forces One of Colleyville's Pioneer Families to Sell their Property

The property located at Hwy. 26 and Pleasant Run Road was owned by one of Colleyville's pioneer families.  It is also one of the oldest commercial buildings still standing in Colleyville today.
