Attorney files for Place 1 on Colleyville City Council
|

George Boll
|
George Boll of Colleyville announced today that he has filed to
run for Colleyville City Council Place 1. The position is
currently held by Councilman Mark Skinner who has not filed for
re-election to date.
This will be Boll’s first run for public office. Boll said his
experience in law has taught him to consider all sides of issues
before making a decision. “It seems to me leadership on the
council can best be illustrated by considering and evaluating what
is best for our entire community, not what is best for just a
single group.
|
Key to success in my professional life has been
careful research and information gathering, then, with a calm
resolve, making a sound decision. I always encourage open and
honest debate and dialogue on issues so that I can work in the
best interests of my clients. As a member of the council, that
would be my constituents, the residents and businesses of
Colleyville. I do not believe that antagonism with fellow elected
officials is of any use in the governance of our city,” said
Boll. Click

Councilman Mark Skinner has once again used his now famous

surrender the list. The question is now at the
Attorney General's office for further review. LNO

CodeRED Emergency Notification System...residents are urged to sign up
now
Colleyville... CodeRED system gives city officials the ability to
deliver pre-recorded emergency telephone notification/information
messages to targeted areas or the entire City at a rate of up to 60,000
calls per hour.

Fire Chief Mike Johnston |
Colleyville Fire Chief Johnston,
cautioned that such systems are only as good as the telephone
database supporting them. "If your phone number is
not in the database, you will not be called." The
CodeRED system not only offers faster calling rates and improved
message delivery, it gives individuals and businesses the
ability to add their own phone numbers directly to the system's
telephone database. Chief Johnston emphasized that this is
an extremely important feature.

seem somewhat innocuous, that is City of Colleyville's quarterly
newsletter, ended up in a shouting match with Councilman Mark

Dolan suggested the newsletter should have the approval of the
council and 25% of it should not be a political message form the
mayor. |

The
Colleyville Courier had to regroup after
Colleyville voters spoke their mind on the February 5th Bond
issues. Since it was launched about a year and half ago, the Courier's very first
editorial page ever referred to the bond opposition folks as
"Thibodeaux's Ruse," proclaiming Thibodeaux,
lacked "a shred of dignity." The Courier
continued, "Anyone who criticizes Thibodeaux is subject to
personal attacks, crude rants and temper tantrums.
Citizens who publicly oppose Thibodeaux and CCAN are vilified
and dragged through the mud," (proof by example not
offered of course).

Parking lot crimes at La Hacienda
Ranch restaurant are by now a familiar problem
2/07/05 Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, forced entry, at 5250 Highway 121
South, the now-familiar address of the La Hacienda Ranch restaurant.
Oklahoma man in town for business, parked his rented Chevrolet
approximately 150' from the attended valet parking podium in the lot. He
then removed his company-owned IBM laptop computer from the seat of the
car and locked it in the trunk before entering the restaurant to dine.
When the man returned to his vehicle, about 7:15 PM, he discovered the
back passenger window had been shattered, and an unknown offender had
entered the car to press the trunk-release button next to the steering
column to pop the trunk lid. The brazen thief then stole the $2000
laptop, owned by the Cisco Corporation in San Jose, California. In
addition to the theft, Officer Greg Prewitt reports damage to the rental
car is estimated at $600. Click

See emails to the Editor about the
Bond Issue, citizens send comments to Email
to the Editor.Against all
bond issues, with reasons....
Some of the Colleyville bond propositions are "good ideas",
some are not.
But this is not the real issue here.
Skinner should not be criticized...
I would like to comment on your story criticizing Councilman Skinner.
Have always found Mark to be a great attribute to our City, and he sure
doesn't deserve your harsh words.
What about the trees if the bond
passes?
One of the bond propositions involves replacing the retaining wall on Bedford Road near Saddlebrook.
John F. Kennedy would probably Vote YES for Propositions 3 and 6.
I write this letter as a founding and now former member of the SH 26 Advisory Committee which was established by the Colleyville City Council in 2000.
Senior Center shouldn't be
sacrificed because of power lines
I don't like what I read in the Courier from time to time. We are in complete agreement with you on burying the utility lines. It might be nice but it is certainly not necessary and that money could well be spent on more important things.
