"Change the World" American Red Cross Fundraiser at Grapevine Mills

Grapevine Mills held a "Change the World" American Red Cross Fundraiser on Monday, September 17, 2001 from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM.  Members of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex donated cash and checks throughout the day.  Approximately $300,000 was raised.  Checks and dollar bills totaled $267,000 and the America Red Cross estimated that the donated coins, once counted, would bring the grand total to approimately $300,000.  Citizens that donated received American flags, Red, White & Blue Unity Ribbons and soft drinks/water.

Three lines of traffic were formed for customers to make drive through donations.  The participation was consistent throughout the day, with heaviest times obviously being rush hours and lunchtime.
