The
Colleyville City Council established the first permanent library
board and made appointments at its Tuesday night meeting.
The ordinance, adopted unanimously, established the number
of Board members, terms of office, qualifications for service and
provided for duties and responsibilities of the Board.
Later in the meeting appointments were made by resolution.
Of the sixteen applications received, seven were appointed
to places and two alternates were selected.
They are as follows:

In
a brief update, city staff reported that the designs for the
library are being finalized and they are beginning the process of
getting cost estimates. They
plan to advertise for bids in the fall, with a projected
construction start in the late fall or early winter.
Completion is estimated to be in early 2003.
