Dateline: May 16, 2001 GHS Spring Art Show...Raven Thibodeaux, Guest Writer On Thursday, May 10, 2001, Grapevine High School's national Art Society (NAHS) held the annual Grapevine Art Show. Approximately 75 were in attendance of the event which was held in the Grapevine High School's library. The Grapevine NAHS was established over three years ago and each year they sponsor the Annual Art Show. The show also contains the induction ceremonies for the new members. Each new member must maintain an A average in their art classes, have good conduct, and must complete at least five hours of community service each semester.
There were many awards given in 3d sculpture, 2D black and white drawings, colored drawings, mixed media computer graphics, painting and much more. The seniors were able to submit five of their best items from their portfolios to enter in the competition. Several awards were given to very talented students, all of whom will certainly be seen in the future. One of the students, Dennis Provost, presented Mrs. Barrett a picture that he painted of her son Chris Barrett. Chris is also a talented art student at GHS.
