Dateline: May 17, 2001 The Arts League Annual Spring Tea...Kimberly Connor On Wednesday, May 16, 2001 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, The Arts League held their Annual Spring Tea at Betty Jean and John Willbanks home in Colleyville, Texas. The Tea benefited Summer Arts College Scholarships for Children. There was a gift basket raffle and silent auction with gifts donated from local businesses. The donations ranged from gift certificates to plants and herbs. There was a variety of items available for the attendees to nibble on while they socialized with the other guests. "It is just wonderful that the Wilbanks were kind enough to open their beautiful home for such a worthy cause", one of the attendees shared with the LNO representative. "We are thrilled with the attendance today and are enjoy the opportunity to inform the public about The Arts League", stated a representative of The Arts League. The Arts League was organized in 1983. The Arts League is a supportive arm of the Arts Council of Northeast Tarrant County. The mission is to provide volunteer services and fundraising activities to help support the council and its affiliate members. The two major fundraising events each year are The Spring Tea and the Shining Stars Award Luncheon.
