Colleyville Elementary School Holds Annual Field Day...Kimberly Connor

The Colleyville Elementary School held their annual field day on Friday, May 4, 2001 at the Colleyville Middle School's football/track field.  

Carolyn Shulman, P.E. Teacher coordinated the activities while Mrs. Michele Poradek, PTA, was responsible for the decorations, snack bar, and volunteers this year.  Mrs. Ross stated, "Mrs. Poradek and Mrs. Shulman did a wonderful job this year with the event."

The events began with the children entering by the middle school and walking around half of the track. They were introduced by grade and teacher.  The theme this year was the Derby.  Therefore, all of the classes chose a name for their classes "horse".

The kids enjoyed activities ranging from the football toss, relays, tug-of-war, to the windjammer contest.  The grades competed against each other and were given ribbons for each event.

Although it treatened to rain during the day, there was only a short rain right before the lunch break.  It cleared in time for the afternoon activities to continue.  

Mrs. Poradek will be moving to the middle school next year and the PTA wanted to give her a special thanks for all of her hard work.
