On
Tuesday August 26, 2003, North East Tarrant's newest
addition to the supermarket scene had an open house for
the media. If the actual operations of this
facility is anything like the effort on media day,
consumers are in for a different kind of grocery
shopping experience.
Arrangement for the media day was coordinated by Cooksey
Communications of Irving. The result was professional
attention to every detail. Cooksey Communications
arranged for all the managers, executives and virtually
every employee to be available for photos and
interviews. Gail Cooksey, President of the firm
also is handling media relations for Grapevine's
Opryland hotel.
The new
Market Street store will officially open on Wednesday, September 3rd
following a 9 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony.
Market
Street is sure to have a broad market appeal because
they have such an extensive line of food and services
available to the public. There are eleven main departments
and nine restaurants under the Market Street roof. The
department include: a bakery; concierge service;
customer convenience center; dish event center and
kitchen store; farmer’s market; flower shop; grocery;
meat and seafood market; outdoor; pharmacy and whole
health; and wine cellar and beer from around the world.
There
are some truly unique qualities about the departments at
Market Street. The concierge service is wonderful
concept for a super market. Market Street’s Concierge
Service is designed to help shoppers plan a party or
fill a special request. Market Street has the capability
of assisting in special events. The service includes
gift baskets, special order cakes, flowers, party trays
and other special orders.
They will also offer an on-line registration
service.
Market
Street will be carrying the largest selection of
domestic and imported beers in Tarrant County.
They also have a vast wine collection featuring
bottles from different countries. Full-time sommeliers
will be available to give expert advice and food pairing
suggestions. Market Street is hoping to create a family
of customers and employees.
Nine
restaurants line the right side of the building.
Everything from down home favorites like chicken fried
steak to sushi will be made fresh daily in-store and
served for wither dine-in or take-out. There is also a
coffee shop that offers a variety of specialty drinks.
The
Dish and Event Center will include a culinary center
that will feature cooking classes and demonstrations by
chefs and experts from around the country. There will
also be a dining area and a specialty shop with gifts
and gadgets for the cook. Small appliances, gourmet
cookware, and cutlery, as well as designer tabletop
items and kitchen accessories will be available for
purchase in the specialty kitchen store. Market Street
has designed the Dish and Event Center to become a
meeting place for the community and for customer
gatherings.
“We
are a new member of this community,” Alan Barron,
Store Director, said. “We want to support the
community and surrounding communities.”
United
Market’s roots go back to 1916 when the first United
Cash Store was opened in Sayre, Oklahoma. When H.D.
Snell opened another store in Oklahoma he stated, “We
do not come here to tear down; we come here to build
up.” That
legacy holds true today. The 72,000 square foot facility
will employ approximately 450 employees from Colleyville
and the surrounding areas.
“Being
a part of the community is essential,” Gantt Bumstead,
Market Street President said.
Market
Street is a world-class food concept store. Colleyville
will be their first DFW area location. The Colleyville
store is the fourth Market Street concept store opening.
United Market still embodies the philosophy of its
founders: quality, value, customer service and community
involvement. Market Street is extending those same
ideals into new markets combined with a fresh approach
to the grocery store experience. |
