City Council Meeting Preview
The Southlake City
Council will meet on Tuesday, August 21, in the Town Hall Council
Chambers, 1400 Main Street. The public work session will begin at
5:30 p.m., with the regular session starting at 6 p.m. or
immediately following the work session. Highlights from the agenda
include: * Consider an interlocal agreement with Carroll ISD to fund and assign School Resource Officers at all CISD secondary schools. The agreement calls form CISD to pay 60 percent of the costs, with the city paying the remainder. For information, call Public Safety Director Rick Black at (817) 481-2406. * Appoint neighborhood representatives for SPIN #7 and SPIN #9e, where vacancies had been created earlier this year due to mid-term resignations. For more information, call Assistant to the City Manager John Eaglen at (817) 481-1433. * Consider plat revision and site plan to allow construction of a Bank One on the southeast corner of West Southlake Boulevard (FM 1709) and Village Center Drive. The Planning & Zoning Commission recommended approval at its Aug. 9 meeting. For information, call Planning Director Bruce Payne at (817) 481-2036. * Consider a revised Outside Storage and Screening ordinance. This document would replace outside storage regulations adopted by the council in February 2000 but not yet implemented as the council considered changes. For information, call Planning Director Bruce Payne at (817) 481-2036.. * Consider a Public Art Policy that would define how the city can review, commission, accept, erect or maintain public art items. The ordinance would establish an Art Review Committee consisting of Council appointees and local artists. For information, call Community Services Director Kevin Hugman at (817) 481-1527. * Consider purchasing a security system for the Southlake Public Library. The system is more expensive than the one originally planned for the library, but will be compatible with a new system installed at the Grapevine Public Library and thus would allow patrons to use materials at both facilities. For information, call Community Services Director Kevin Hugman at (817) 481-1527. |
