As
Mayor, I would like to accomplish: As Mayor, my foremost
responsibility is to carry forward the vision of the citizens of
Colleyville. Maintaining one of the lowest tax rates in Tarrant
County while preserving property values has been a top priority for me
over the last five years. Colleyville's financial status has
steadily improved with our bond rating raised by both Standard and
Poors and Fitch the last two years. Keeping the city financially
stable remains one of my highest priorities. Protection of our
tax base includes high quality economic development growth consistent
with our citizens' vision. The 2002-2007 reconstruction of Highway 26
project is fundamental to our long-term economic viability.
Basic city infrastructure and programs, including drainage, streets,
fire and police protection have priority status. The city has
steadily improved our parks system, but needs to continue this goal.
This includes a long-term parks capital plan and parkland acquisition.
Our trail system implementation is scheduled this year. The
trail system provides a spine for the residents' leisure and
recreational activities. The city's completion of public
buildings includes the City Hall and Colleyville Public Library.
Our Justice Center is scheduled for completion, August 2002. Our
senior programs continue to expand ad need an improved permanent
facility. Through cooperation, ideas, and positive, forward
thinking all these goals are and will continue toward completion.

As

the completion of the new Justice Center, the Library and the new City
Hall. I look forward to working for the expansion of the Senior
programs and the eventual establishment of a new and much larger
Senior Center. I am also interested in our trails and the
acquisition of adequate park space for passive and practice spaces for
our citizens. We need to increase economic development with
quality businesses to offset our advalorum taxes.
