Parents of young children can join GCISD’s Early Childhood PTA, designed especially for parents of children birth to six years old. The goal of the group is to address the needs of families with young children through informative speakers, social activities, playgroups and the friendly support of other parents. Visitors are welcome at meetings. The current membership drive will last until October 1 and dues are only $6 per member. Dove Elementary 
Meet the Teacher Night at Dove Elementary will be on Tuesday, Aug.14, 6-7 p.m. In addition to meeting their teachers, students are encouraged to bring their school supplies. 

On Wed. Aug 15, the Dove PTA is sponsoring the annual Boo Hoo/Yah Hoo breakfast for parents of returning students in the gym. Parents are encouraged to drop off their children and join in the celebration! 

Dove Elementary's first SPIRIT DAY is Friday, Aug. 17. Students may show school spirit by wearing Dove's red and blue school colors! 

Dove Elementary's annual Back to School Celebration will be Friday, Aug. 24, 6-8 p.m. in Dove Park. Everyone is welcome to join Dove's faculty and staff in welcoming a great new school year. 

Curriculum night at Dove Elementary School will be Tuesday, Aug. 28 and Thursday, Aug. 30, with two sessions each night. Parents may attend either session. The schedule for the two nights will be: 

Kindergarten, 2nd and 4th grades: Tuesday, August 28, 6-6:30 p.m. or 6:45-7:15 p.m. 
1st, 3rd and 5th grades: Thursday, August 30, 6-6:30 p.m. or 6:45-7:15 p.m.
