STORY TELLERS with Photos

Sherree Gable

Bea Wright wanted something to make her the special grandmother when she moved to this area to be near her grandchildren so she began telling stories.

Friday the 13th of, July 20, that is, an evening with Wright and Ray Zempruch who were the featured tale spinners when the Tarrant Area Guild of Storytellers hosted "Stories Under the Stars". Listeners leaned back in their lawn chairs and listened to tales of unusual relatives, old world cemeteries, and crickets.

City of Grapevine Annual Night Out Event

The City of Grapevine will celebrate the Third Annual Pre-national Night Out on Saturday, August 4, 2001. This award-winning event will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Grapevine Heritage Center and Depot Station located at 701 S. Main Street. The annual celebration is a kick-off to the National Night Out 2001 events that will be held on Tuesday, August 7th in Grapevine and throughout the country. National Night Out is an annual event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and law enforcement agencies in an effort to promote meeting the people who live in your neighborhood. By working together with local law enforcement, neighbors can help reduce the amount of crime in their neighborhoods by getting to know each other better.
Among the activities planned this year, will be a police and fire car show that promises to be unique and exciting. The car show features antique, low rider, DARE and Beat the Heat racecars, which are all police vehicles. This is not your average public safety show!
This is a free family event designed for fellowship and good clean fun! Remember, everything including entry fee, children's games, clowns, music, refreshments, hot dogs and popcorn are free! Plan to attend and have a great time. No pets please.
