Council Selects New City Manager

Colleyville City Council members selected a new city manager late Tuesday evening.  He is William H. Lindley, Assistant City Manager for the city of DeSoto, Texas. Lindley spent his 18 year career in the Texas cities of Gladewater, Rusk, Cedar Hill, and DeSoto.  The other two finalists were from out of state.  William J. Malinen, City Manager in Lincoln California,  held positions in Minnesota and California during his 16 years in local government management.  The third finalist, Curtis M. Allison, is Director of Community Services in the Village of Wellington, Florida.  His 23 years of experience come from positions in Virginia, Illinois, Maryland and Florida.  A comparative analysis of each candidate's resume was provided by the city and can be accessed here.

The City Manager's position has been open since former manager Bob Stripling left for Staunton, Virginia last October.  Assistant City Manager Dianne McWethy has been serving as Interim City Manager since that time.

In a phone interview with LNO Lindley expressed his excitement about coming to Colleyville.  He and his family are looking forward to moving to the city and becoming part of the community.  He and his wife have two daughters ages 12 and 11.  A more extensive article will follow in tomorrow's edition of LNO.
