Dateline Colleyville: August 06, 2001 Colleyville Police Department Ongoing and Upcoming Senior Citizen Events Seniors are invited to attend all the following events. There are no membership fees or dues to pay. Some of the events have free refreshments, while others may have a small fee. S.A.L.T. Council of Tarrant County meets every month on the first Tuesday at 2pm. Locations vary month to month. Contact Officer Hudgins (see below) to get on the mailing list. SALT is an acronym for Seniors And Law enforcement Together. Seniors and local police working together to prevent Seniors from becoming crime victims. Senior Leadership Northeast meets every month on the third Tuesday at 9:00 am at the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce office, 6700 Colleyville Blvd (Hwy 26) to discuss senior issues and work on improving the quality of life in the northeast quadrant of Tarrant County for Seniors. Chamber phone number is 817-488-7148. April 24th at the Colleyville Community Center a TELEMARKETING REVERSE BOILER ROOM will be held from 11 am to 3 pm. This is a project that SALT, SAF-T (Seniors Against Fraud-Texas; a Southwestern Bell sponsored prevention program for Seniors) and SEC (Securities Exchange Commission) are jointly hosting. The topic of the BOILER ROOM will be INVESTMENT FRAUD. For more information contact Officer Hudgins. MetroPort Meals on Wheels and the City of Colleyville sponsors a Seniors Luncheon at the Colleyville Community Center on the first and third Friday of each month. Lunch, Dominoes, Cards, Bingo and Door Prizes are just a few of the things that they do. Contact Ellen Cheshire at 817-281-4584.
