Colleyville: August 07, 2001 Colleyville
Reschedules Council Meeting to Wednesday, August 8 The
first regular council meeting of August was rescheduled at the July 17
meeting.
It will be Wednesday, August 8.
The executive session will convene at 6:45 p.m.
Among items to be discussed during this time are the evaluation
of the Interim City Manager and the City Manager Executive Search.
It was announced last week that William H. Lindley of DeSoto had
been offered the City Manager position. The
regular meeting will convene at 7:30 p.m.
A second reading will be held on a zoning change requested by
Raman Chandler on 43.891 acres on McDonwell School Road near Precinct
Line Road.
He proposes to build a 53 unit PUD-R on 14.9 acres, with an
average lot size of 6,753 square feet.
This density equates to 3.55 units per acre, compared to the
Master Plan's recommended density of 1.8 units per acre.
According to the applicant, the remaining 29 acres would be
developed with a temporary use as a par 3 golf course and driving range,
with a pro shop and batting cages.
The city staff has recommended denial of the request, as has the
Planning and Zoning Commission.
The council is expected to take action on this request at the
meeting. In other business the council will conduct the first public hearing on a request by Miguelito's Mexican Restaurant for a Special Use Permit to sell alcoholic beverages for on-premise consumption. The staff recommended denial of this request based on technical non-compliance with the Colleyville City Code. The code requires that places that serve alcohol be located at least 1,000 feet away from a public school, church or hospital. The Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended that this request be approved. This will be the first of two public hearings held on this item. |
