Dateline Colleyville: August 15, 2001 2:28 PM City of Colleyville Board and Commission Positions Available Positions
on the Colleyville Zoning Board of Adjustments, Planning & Zoning
Commission, Economic Development Corporation, and the Crime Control and
Prevention District are currently available.
Applications will be accepted through Friday, August 24, 2001, at
4:30 p.m.
Members whose terms are expiring are eligible for re-appointment,
but must reapply. Three
positions are currently available on the Planning and Zoning Commission.
This commission approves plans for subdivisions and makes
recommendations to the City Council on rezoning of land and on
amendments to the City development regulations.
The commission meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each
month.
The regular terms of office are for a period of two years.
Commissioners whose terms are expiring in September include Luann
Edwards, Tom Hart and Brian Hill.
There
are also three positions available on the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
The ZBA acts on requests for variances and special exceptions
under the City's Zoning Ordinance.
They meet on the second Tuesday of each month and terms of office
are for two years.
Members whose terms are expiring in September include Larry
Henry, Dee McNosky and Jerry Birkes. The
Colleyville Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) has three positions
available at this time.
The Corporation promotes economic development within the City.
The Board meets annually on the second Tuesday in September and
may schedule special meetings as necessary.
Terms of office are for two years.
This seven-member board is comprised of four city council members
and three citizens.
The citizens whose terms are expiring at this time are Dennis
Johnson, Ron Adams and Gary Cantrell. One
position is currently available on the Colleyville Crime Control and
Prevention District Board.
The District is supported by a half-cent sales tax approved by
the voters in January 1999.
The Directors propose an annual budget to the City Council and
serve for a two year term.
Citizen C. L. (Smoky) Vanover's term is expiring in September. |
