Blessing of the Children Held at First Assembly of God Colleyville

First Assembly of God Colleyville held its annual "Blessing of the Children" on Sunday, August 12.  At the end of the Sunday morning service all children, age newborn through college, were called to the front of the sanctuary along with their parents.  The pastors and elders of the church anointed them with oil and prayed for their safety and success during the coming school year.  Teachers and educators were also included in the ceremony.

This event has been a tradition at First Assembly for the past few years.  The celebration was expanded this year to include a picnic on Saturday at Colleyville City Park.  Approximately 100 people enjoyed crafts, drama skits, family games and free food.  Organizers of the picnic, Stefanie Tweedy and Tami Buck, said they intend to invite other churches to participate in next year's event and make it a community celebration.
