Erin Bredon, Chris Foy and The Colleyville Reds Receive Proclamations at Council Meeting

Tuesday night's council meeting began with festivities and celebration as Mayor Donna Arp presented three proclamations and made announcements about city staff changes.  Erin Bredon, Miss Teen Colleyville, was acknowledged for her participation in the Miss Teenage Texas scholarship pageant.  Erin was chosen from 8,000 applicants to compete with fifty other young ladies.  She was presented the Science Achievement Award at the pageant for her accomplishments in that field.  

Chris Foy was presented a proclamation for his decision to establish a business in the city of Colleyville.  He is the owner of Goldie's Patio Grill, currently under construction in the Village of Colleyville.  He introduced his wife and mentioned that the venture was a family operation that his children would also be involved in.  

Without a doubt the most excited group at the meeting was the Colleyville Reds Mustang All-Star baseball team.  The team recently won the North Texas Springtown Little League Invitational Tournament.  The council greeted and congratulated the boys after each one received an individual trophy from one of their coaches, Lee Hughes.

Mayor Arp also introduced the new city manager, Bill Lindley, who took the podium and introduced his wife, Julie, and daughters Lauren and Katie.  He will begin his new position on Monday.  It was also announced that Interim City Manager Dianne McWethy had been promoted to Deputy City Manager, also effective next Monday.  McWethy has been acting as city manager since former manager Bob Stripling left for a position in Virginia last November.  Prior to that she had served as Assistant City Manager for a number of years.

After the proclamations were presented and announcements made the council took a break and shared cake and punch with the recipients and audience.
