"Art of the Table" Lending a Helping Hand to Victims of Domestic Violence

It is time to mark your calendars and buy your tickets for an exciting and innovative fundraiser sponsored by Mid-Cities Supporters of the Shelter benefiting The Women's Shelter, a safe haven for battered women and their children.  It is time for "Art of the Table" 2001, the Third Annual community presentation of twenty-five imaginative table settings created by area businesses, non-profit organizations, and individuals.  Attendees will experience varied table compositions from "An Evening of Romance" to a "Frogs-A-Leaping" Luncheon to an "Autumn Adventure".  This event also offers a coffee bar serving refreshments and a chance to win a fabulous hand-cut Waterford crystal vase.  Click here for flyer

This year it is Mid-Cities S.O.S.'s challenge to raise funds to assist The Women's Shelter in providing essential services for victims of family violence in Northeast Tarrant County through its L.I.F.T. program ("Living Independently: Families in Transition").  L.I.F.T.'s goals are to end homelessness, improve life skills, develop positive family communications, develop and improve vocational skills, and provide support for families recovering from the trauma of domestic violence.

Mid-Cities S.O.S.'s ability to assist The Women's Shelter through fund-raising events such as "Art of the Table" 2001, is made possible by the generous support of sponsors such as Park Place Dealerships and Verizon Wireless, as well as the people who attend our special event.

Please join Mid-Cities S.O.S. in support of this important community endeavor.  By forming a collaborative partnership we can provide safety to and develop vital living skills for women and children in Northeast Tarrant County while moving forward to eradicate this shameful blight on our society.
