Dr.
Steve Weinberg of Colleyville Appointed Associate Director of Peace
Corps

Dr.
Steve Weinberg of Colleyville has been appointed Associate
Director of Volunteer Support for the Peace Corps by the Bush
administration.
He and his wife, Vicki, will leave for Washington, D.C. on
Tuesday, September 11, and he will start his position on
Wednesday.
Dr. Weinberg initially interviewed for the position in
February and was recently notified of his selection by the White
House.
He will be responsible for the health, safety, and welfare
of all Peace Corps volunteers, numbering some 7,300 serving in 75
countries.
Dr.
Weinberg has served as a medical missionary in three of the
countries served by the Peace Corps - Honduras, Haiti and Zaire
(now known once again as the

Congo).
He served as a surgeon for nineteen years prior to
obtaining his degree and practicing law for twelve years.
Dr. Weinberg also has professional experience in banking,
oil and gas, real estate development, and ranching.
He was a Major in the U. S. Air Force from 1967 - 1972.
He and Vicki have resided in Colleyville for many years and
have both been active in political and service organizations in
the community.
He has been active in the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club,
American Cancer Society and is a former board member of the
Tarrant County Hospital District. |
