Colleyville Middle Celebrates American Spirit with $7,000 Donation and USA Celebrity Pep Rally

Colleyville middle celebrates American spirit with
$7,000 donation and usa celebrity pep rally

Students at Colleyville Middle School will show that the spirit of America is as strong as ever at a "Celebrate America" pep rally on Friday, Sept. 14 at 2:30 p.m. at the school's athletic field. At the rally, it will be announced that students, staff and their families, spearheaded by the school's PALS student organization, donated $7,000 for the American Red Cross' victim relief effort.

Joining the students and staff in this "star-spangled" celebration will be quite a roster of celebrity guests, including Texas Rangers Rusty Greer, Jeff Crabtree, Rafael Palmeiro, former Texas Rangers' pitcher Jeff Russell, former Texas Ranger Pete O'Brien, former Houston Oiler Earl Campbell, Larry McWiliams, who was a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates and Kansas City Royals, Colleyville's Mayor Donna Arp and Fire Chief Michael Johnston, and representatives from the Colleyville Police Department.

Patriotic performances and music by the Grapevine High school drum corp, Colleyville Middle band and choir, as well as a red, white and blue balloon release will add excitement to the spectacular celebration.

Students and staff are encouraged to wear red, white and blue and during the rally, a moment of silence will be held for victims.

Media representatives, other GCISD employees and members of the community are invited to attend this moving display of American patriotism.

Colleyville Middle School is located at 1100 Bogart Drive, Colleyville.
