DONOR CAPACITY REACHED BY 10:00 A.M. AT SOUTHLAKE WOMEN'S SOCIETY BLOOD DRIVE

In response to our Nation's current crisis, the Greater Southlake Women's Society held a blood drive on Friday, September 14, 2001 from 8:30am - 3:30pm at the Southlake Senior Activity Center.

Era-Lee Caldwell, President and Lynn Flaherty, Health and Safety Chairperson

Lynn Flaherty, Health and Safety Chairperson, stated the maximum donations they could schedule Friday was 104.  By 10:00am they had exceeded that goal and began taking names and numbers of individuals for future blood drives.  Lynn also stated, "We are finding that people are coming in that have never given blood before.  We have an excess of 250 to 300 people that are coming in and are not able to give."

L to R:  Lori Stark, Kelly Brashear (standing) Karen Salemi and Maria Castro

Era-Lee Caldwell who is the organization's current President stated, "It is a humbling experience to have that many people come out like this.  We have also been accepting checks to deposit in Chase.  We have received $1,000 and $500 checks and we have a stack of $100 checks."

Donors signed banners that will be sent to NY and DC
