WORLD WAR II VETERANS MAY RECEIVE LONG-DESERVED HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS

World War II veterans may receive long-deserved high school diplomas Veterans of World War II who were unable to receive high school diplomas because they served in the war may now receive a high school diploma from the high school from which they would have graduated. Senate Bill 387, signed by Gov. Rick Perry, authorizes Grapevine-Colleyville ISD and other school districts to issue diplomas to veterans who meet the following criteria:

  • Honorably discharged
  • Scheduled to graduate after 1940 and before 1951
  • Left high school before graduation to serve in World War II

Applications for the high school diploma are available at the Administrative building of Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, 3051 Ira E. Woods Avenue, Grapevine. Veterans or a person acting on behalf of a deceased veteran should complete the form and return it to the district along with one of the following pieces of documentation:

  • DD Form 214
  • Enlisted Record and Report of Separation Form
  • Discharge Certificate
