COLLEYVILLE YOUTH RAKE LEAVES TO RAISE FUNDS FOR NEW YORK…by Linda Newton

A group of young Highland Meadows residents came up with an idea to raise money and make a contribution to the relief efforts for New York City in early December.  Carly Rosse, Clayton and Shea Stanley, and Allyson and Zachary Beck went door to door in the neighborhood offering to rake and bag leaves for two dollars per bag.  The youngsters, along with some assistance from their mothers, worked two weekends for their neighbors.  One homeowner included a tip in his payment, only to find the crew return the next weekend to bag more leaves to make up for his “overpayment”.  Some major corporations could learn a thing or two from this group about customer service!
