HALL-JOHNSON
ROAD OPENS WITHOUT FANFARE

A
landscaped Hall-Johnson Opens as a 4-Lane
| Some
would tell you elections have been lost over the
decision to improve Hall Johnson Road to 4 lanes in
Colleyville, (connecting to the 4 lanes in Grapevine).
Councilwoman Tigue had once said others had "hornswaggled"
the public over the road. Mayor Arp threatened to cancel
the bond sale. The newly elected council majority
became somewhat of a "Laughable Legend" when
they even discussed covering part of the road with dirt.
However, in July the road opened without fanfare as a
four-lane boulevard and the Colleyville City Council
decided that was a good thing after all. |

ROADS ONCE AGAIN IN NEWS, THIS TIME THE INFAMOUS "YELLOW
BIRD" MEDIAN ON HWY 26
Posted
September 25, 2001

| Mayor
Donna Arp says she was out of town and didn't know about
the median. The Village Developer said he paid for it, but
could have just as well skipped it. The local businesses
said why didn't anyone ask them. The State
Representative steps in with TexDot to remedy the problem
and Councilwoman Tigue says she "embarrassed"
the city council by not letting them handle matters.
Mayor Arp tells State Rep. Truitt not to call
"her" city manager without going through the
Mayor's office. Meanwhile, the median turns from
"Big Bird Yellow" to "A Giant Black
Snake", then suddenly most of it disappears when
"someone" takes most of the median out in dump
trucks. |
