GCISD RECEIVES BOMB THREAT

Principal Dana Drew reported the following at 2:00 pm today.

The following:

Today at approximately 12:35 p.m., Grapevine High School received a bomb
 threat by phone.  We immediately implemented our Crisis Plan and did a
 physical search of the building both inside and out and a trace on the
 phone line.  At the time we completed the sweep, we had knowledge of where
 the phone call originated.  Within five minutes we had the phone and the
 perpetrator in the office.  He stated that the threat was a prank.  His
 discipline will be handled by both the district and the police department.
  The district intends to pursue this matter to its fullest extent.

 You may hear some criticism that we did not evacuate the building, but we
 handled the situation according to our crisis training.  It is unfortunate
 that we have to deal with this type of situation, but we are pleased with
 the quick results.
