Ranking of Local Cities by total sales for 4th Quarter 2000 compared to 4th Quarter 1999

Leading local cities with over $375 million in sales is Grapevine.  With the growth of additional commercial enterprises, Grapevine far outpaces its closest rival, North Richland Hills.  The smallest revenue was the $6 million generated by the much smaller market of Roanoke.

Trophy Club experienced a whopping 214% growth in sales revenues over from 4th quarter 1999 to 4th quarter 2000.  Out of the 14 local cities reviewed Trophy Club was the only one with three digit growth, while 5 other experienced double digit growth and 10 out of the 14 cities experienced some growth.

Only Richland Hills, Colleyville, Bedford and Roanoke show a decrease in gross sales.

In the amount of dollar growth, Grapevine more than tripled its closes rival Hurst with a rocketing growth of almost $80 million from the previous year.

Nine cities reflected substantial increase in sales revenue, while North Richland Hills remained within $600,000 of the previous year.

The only cities to experience loss in sales taxes were Colleyville with over $1 million decrease in gross sales, Bedford with a decrease of $4.6 million, while Roanoke decreased $700,000 and Richland Hills had  $500,000 less revenue.  The loss of gross sales, reported in Colleyville, does not reflect the loss of  one of the largest retailers in the city, Payless Cashways.
