Worth Ranch gets 100ft flag pole
to celebrate 75th anniversary
Since 1929, youngsters have
traveled to Worth Ranch in Palo Pinto county to attend camp. To
celebrate the 75th year anniversary of the camp, a 100 ft. flag pole was
installed to welcome future generations of visitors.

More than 400 Boy Scouts,
families and observers attended the June 15th ceremony. Click

A plaque was set to commemorate the 75th anniversary of
Worth Ranch. Don Noblit was recognized on the plaque for
his generous donation underwriting the new structure. |
Concerning the 100 ft. flag pole topped
off with a large American flag, the person most responsible for
underwriting the project, Don Noblit, said, “It is inspiring,” upon sighting for the first time the garrison size American flag flying at the Worth Boy Scout Ranch in Palo Pinto.
Noblit pointed out that scouting is one of the few organizations that teach flag etiquette, patriotism, leadership and ethics. “To be a part of that educational process for generations into the future is an honor. I am happy to play a small part in inspiring young men to patriotism and duty to Country.”
Attending the dedication ceremony on June 15th, 2005 were about 400 Boy Scouts,
visitors and dignitaries including Mr. Glenn Stouder who was present for
the original flag pole dedication as a Boy Scout in 1930 at Worth Ranch.
The pole was set by America’s Flags and Poles. Steve Symonds,
owner of the company, personally set the 100’ flag pole. The pole is
topped by a 34”by 44” bronze Eagle. In addition to Noblit, funding for the pole and Eagle was provided by Friends of Worth Ranch.

financial underwriter for the new 100 ft American flag pole at
Worth Ranch. Noblit, seen here in April 2005 with Lions
Club President Frank Carroll, was recognized with the Lions
International Melvin Jones award, the highest recognition given
in the world wide volunteer organization. |
