People & Pet Walk-A-Thon Rescheduled for July 7
After being rained out last Saturday, the North
Richland Hills Animal Adoption & Rescue Center’s
annual Walk-A-Thon has been rescheduled for 8 a.m.
on Saturday, July 7.
The two-mile walk will begin and end at Tipps Canine
Hollow at Northfield Park, 7804 Davis Blvd. Area
residents are encouraged to bring their pets to the
walk, provided they are on a leash and have current
rabies vaccinations and licenses.
Registration for the Walk-A-Thon is a minimum $18
donation and can be paid in advance at the NRH
Animal Adoption & Rescue Center, 7200 B Dick Fisher
Drive South. Registration will also be accepted at
the park from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. the day of the
event. Participants will receive a free T-shirt. All
funds raised from this event benefit the NRH Animal
Adoption & Rescue Center Shelter Fund.
In addition to raising money for the Shelter Fund,
the Walk-A-Thon will celebrate the first anniversary
of the opening of Tipps Canine Hollow dog park.
Tipps Canine Hollow provides a safe environment for
pet owners to unleash their dogs and let them
exercise and socialize freely without disrupting the
activities of others. The park includes a 2-acre
fenced area for large dogs and 1-acre fenced area
for small dogs. The park also offers water stations,
dog waste stations, plenty of open space to run and
shady areas for relaxing.
A doggie mall offering pet products and services
will be set up at Tipps Canine Hollow from 7 a.m. to
11 a.m. on the day of the Walk-A-Thon.
For more information about the Walk-A-Thon, please
call the NRH Animal Adoption & Rescue Center at
817-427-6570. |

Found Dog Bulletin:
On Friday afternoon, a small brown dog with a green
collar was found running down John McCain Road in
Colleyville. The dog appeared frightened and was
perhaps disoriented by the sudden thunderstorms which
passed through the area yesterday. A lady with her two
teenage children brought the dog to the Colleyville
Justice Center about 4:45 PM after the Animal Control
Officer had left, and it remained overnight at
the Police Department. However, the dog,
which has light brown short hair, pointed nose,
and appears to be an older male with white hairs around
it's muzzle, will be transported to the Hurst Dog
Pound on Saturday morning. If you are missing your
dog, or know who it belongs to, please contact the Hurst
facility at (817) 788-7216.
