RESIDENTIAL RELOCATION REPORT ISSUED The Economic Development Department has released a Residential Relocation Report as an additional support document for attracting corporate users to Southlake. The original concept was generated for the Boeing presentation, and has since been enhanced to include a summary of information on all the major subdivisions in Southlake, citywide home sale averages on nearby cities, and information on local school districts. To obtain a copy of the report, call Economic Development Director Greg Last at (817) 481-1671. SOUTHLAKE EMPLOYEES COMPETE FOR UNITED WAY City employees are holding their annual United Way campaign next week, once again competing in a series of fun events while raising money for North Texas charitable and support organizations. Employees are competing in five events, and will close the campaign on Friday with a luncheon, event finals, raffle and live auction. Events are being held noon to 1 p.m. daily on the following schedule:

Contest, Bicentennial Southlake has held successful United Way campaigns for more than a decade, frequently ranking near the top for per-employee giving among Tarrant County municipalities. HARVEST FEST SET FOR OCTOBER 27 The city's annual Harvest Fest will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at Bicentennial Park. This free fall festival will include many family- and children-oriented activities, including games, crafts, prizes and concessions. AUTHOR LUNCHEON TO BENEFIT LOCAL LIBRARIES Support groups for the Southlake, Grapevine and Colleyville libraries are holding a joint fund-raiser Book & Author Luncheon on Oct. 24 at the TMS Speedway Club. The lunch, from noon to 2:30 p.m., will feature appearances by such noted authors as Tony Hillerman, Peter Straub, Richard Paul Evans, Max Lale, Dan Jenkins and Amanda Dunbar. Tickets are $40 per person, or $75 including a private reception with the authors. For information, call (817) 545-6837. COMMUNITY SERVICES WINS STATE AWARD FOR TRAILS On Oct. 11, the Regional Transportation Commission honored Southlake with a 2001 Livable Community Award for Alternative Transportation Achievement, presented by the Trans Texas Alliance (TTA) in recognition of the Southlake Pathways Trail System Master Plan. The TTA is an Austin-based non-profit organization created in 1992 to educate metropolitan, suburban, and rural communities in Texas about transportation issues.
