The
National Mental Health Association, National Alliance for the
Mentally Ill and Habitat for Humanity International have formed
"A Partnership to Open Doors" to address the needs of
families who are dealing with mental illness. The first Habitat
house to be built through this unique partnership will be built
in Fort Worth, using the resources of the local Habitat for
Humanity affiliate. The house will be dedicated on Sunday,
November 18, 2001 at 2:00pm. Volunteers are still needed to
assist in this project. Volunteer hours are scheduled for the
following dates:
Thursday,
Nov. 8: 7-12, 12:30-5:30 start shingles, siding and
exterior trim
Friday,
Nov. 9: finish roof, continue siding and exterior trim,
and work on fence
Saturday,
Nov. 10: finish siding, work on exterior trim &
exterior paint, work on fence
Thursday,
Nov. 15: interior paint and caulking
Friday,
Nov. 16: finish exterior paint, start landscaping,
finish fence and continue interior paint
Saturday,
Nov. 17: interior finish out, hardware, touch up paint,
etc., clean up
They
need your help. You don't have to be a skilled construction
worker. You just need to have a willingness to volunteer,
and must be at least 14 years old. Join the fun and help build a
