City Slickers Live & Silent Auction a Success...Kimberly B. Connor

The Colleyville Area Chamber of Commerce held their 19th Annual City Slickers Live and Silent Auction last night at the Grapevine Convention Center.  Ms. Ret Stansberger estimated there were approximately 1,200 to 1,300 people that attended last night's event.  Ms. Ret stated that is was due to the volunteers and the wonderful donations by the Chamber's members that helped make the event such a success.  Initial figures estimate the event made over $70,000 between the live and silent auctions.

The attendees had the opportunity to enjoy spectacular food and drinks while they viewed all the wonderful items available. The entertainment was provided by the Grapevine Opry and included Britanny Kenney, Sweetwater, Teather Sonnet, Kailey, Wade Hawthorne, and Nathan Belt.  All of the entertainers did an outstanding job keeping the audience entertained.

There were four rooms with items for the silent bids with staggering closing times.  The items varied from gift certificates from local retailers to sports memorabilia and more.
